The second species described from our lab this year is a rain frog belonging to the Neotropical genus Pristimantis - one of the largest genera of vertebrates. This group contains a large number of cryptic species and the latest addition can be considered as a cryptic species, as many other morphologically similar species that have in the past been grouped in the "Pristimantis lacrimosus" group.
